The Small Bag
I found a bag very similar to this one at the Unique Thrift years ago. I loved it immediately because I love small leather bags with an across-the-body strap, but they are for some reason hard to find. They are easy on the back, and force me to pack lightly. If I’m on my bike or out at a bar or show, I can keep it on and not notice the weight.
I wore the original until it disintegrated, then made a new version in a sturdier, vegetable-tanned leather. I hand-dyed it purple and brown, a color that somehow goes with pretty much anything.
Recently I made the bag again in four colors for a boutique in Ohio that sells the line designed by my friend, Jessica Audey.
I’ll be making another round soon. Email me if you’d like one: hayeshayes@gmail.com.
